Vivek Shraya and Ness Lee, the author and illustrator of the new comic book Death Threat, talk about their groundbreaking project in this video essay by VICE Canada.
The book is inspired by death threats Vivek started to receive in 2017 shortly after coming out as trans. Ness Lee's visual representations of the letters, and Shraya's responses to them, result in a collaborative work that becomes a compelling document of resistance.
Death Threat will be published by Arsenal Pulp Press this April.
