Arielle Twist's incendiary debut collection Disintegrate/Dissociate has won the Indigenous Voices Award for published poetry in English. She shares the prize with Michelle Sylliboy's Kiskajeyi -- I am Ready (Rebel Mountain Press).

The Indigenous Voices Awards (IVAs) were established in 2017 to support and nurture the work of Indigenous writers in lands claimed by Canada.

Award-winning writer Joshua Whitehead (Jonny Appleseed) has called Disintegrate/Dissociate "a miraculous debut of poetry that enacts exactly what it summons into the world." Earlier this year, it was shortlisted for the Publishing Triangle Award for Trans and Gender Variant Literature in the US.
