The Blue Road: A Fable of Migration by Wayde Compton and April dela Noche Milne, a young-adult graphic novel about a young girl named Lacuna and her journey to find a place where she belongs, has received a starred review in Kirkus Reviews, which calls it "a touching allegory of the unexpected and burdensome trials of migration."

The Blue Road is Wayde's sixth book with Arsenal, and his first graphic novel. His previous books include the poetry books 49th Parallel Psalm and Performance Bond, and the story collection The Outer Harbour, which won the City of Vancouver Book Award.
