Congratulations to Tea Mutonji, whose debut story collection Shut Up You're Pretty is a finalist for the $20,000 Trillium Book Award!

Shut Up You're Pretty was the first title in the VS. Books imprint launched in 2019. Tea's book has already received a fair share of accolades, including the Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction from the Publishing Triangle. It was also shortlisted for the Rogers Writers' Trust of Canada Fiction Prize.

The Trillium Book Awards were established in 1987 to recognize excellence, support marketing and foster increased public awareness of the quality and diversity of Ontario writers and writing. The other finalists in the English language category are Sister Language by Christina Baillie and Martha Baillie (Pedlar Press), I Become a Delight to My Enemies by Sara Rogers (Strange Light), Frying Plaintain by Zalika Reid-Benta (House of Anansi Press), and Clyde Fans by Seth (Drawn and Quarterly).
