The Tiger Flu: Larissa Lai profiled in Quill and Quire cover story
Larissa Lai talks about her new novel The Tiger Flu -- her first in sixteen years -- in Quill and Quire's November 2018 cover story: “There was an openness and a willingness to free-fall that I miss. This has been a fundamentally different experience in writing.”
The Tiger Flu is set in the near future, about a community of parthenogenic women who have been engineered to reproduce without the need for men. In the article, Larissa talks about how speculative feminist novels of the past influenced her writing of this novel: "The Tiger Flu is my conversation with these books, with this question of how we look to build a better world -- specifically, a world of women.”
