Welcome to the new website!

By Brian Lam Date: September 04, 2018

We’re stoked to introduce you to our brand spanking new website, complete with new bells and improved whistles. We hope you have fun navigating it; be sure to check out the latest APP news, book excerpts, author Q&As, spectacular flash sales, and great incentives for signing up to receive our free newsletter. We’ll also be including content written specially for the site by Arsenal staff, who will catch you up on industry trends, books and projects they’re working on, and office buzz, as well as by our talented roster of writers.

We've got a stellar lineup of new books this fall. First up is The Antifa Comic Book, the latest graphic title by Gord Hill, author of the now-classic 500 Years of Resistance Comic Book (and his first in full-colour); there's also The Scent of Pomegranates and Rose Water, a beautiful cookbook of traditional Syrian recipes by Habeeb Salloum and his two daughters Leila and Muna. Also new is Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore's astounding novel Sketchtasy, which has already won praise from Sarah Schulman, Jake Shears, and Alexander Chee, among others; and Larissa Lai's first novel in sixteen years, The Tiger FluThen there's Care Work, a groundbreaking book on disability justice by the amazing Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha; Murder by Milkshake, a too-crazy-to-be-true crime book by investigative reporter Eve Lazarus, author of the bestselling Cold Case Vancouver; and Chinatown Ghosts, a new edition of poems by the late Jim Wong-Chu, juxtaposed with his stunning photographs of Vancouver's Chinatown in the 1970s and 80s. Finally, we have two brilliant debuts on offer: The Woo-Woo, Lindsay Wong's darkly comedic memoir that's already been shortlisted for the Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Award for Nonfiction, about the ancestral ghosts that haunt her family whose existence masks evidence of mental illness; and Synchro Boy, a compelling young adult novel about a teenaged boy who takes up synchronized swimming, written by Shannon McFerran.

And that's not all -- there's the new year to look forward to, which will bring us new books by Vivek Shraya, Teresa Wong, Téa Mutonji, C.E. Gatchalian, Lydia Kwa, Arielle Twist, R.L. Cagle, and a new poetry book by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha.

You'll find these books and many more on our new site. Happy exploring!
